..so the upgrade bug has done its thing, again..

I am going to change my 47" 720P LCD TV to an LED, similar size. DOnt worry about the money, help me with what I should be looking at from a PQ stand point.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

Well from what I have read and seen....the picture of the LED based sets from Samsung and Sony don't live up to their lofty price tags. With the Sony LED LCD's having a PQ edge over the Samsung LED TVs -- which are of course, more expensive.

If you are interested in the best PQ and the money is not an issue as you have said, then the Pioneer Kuro Elite PRO-111FD plasma is the best route --- the 50" model can be had for as low as $3,500....

The leds are back and edge lit lcds and while the still resolution can be very nice, the motion isn't. IMO you should still consider plasma

The Panasonic TC-P50S1 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889187113) would blow away any LCD in that price range and far above. I would take it over any LED lit LCD I have seen from any manufacturer.

Do yourself a favor and get a beautiful panny or Kuro plasma.

If you want something LCD then get an Epson 6500 and a fixed frame Carada screen.
