Hey everybody,

In my room I've got an xbox 360 and homebuilt pc hooked up to a 37" HDTV with some PC speakers. I like my set up but think the only thing that lacked was the speakers. So a mate was selling some spare Wharfedale AT400's which I bought for £60 (4 years old but barely used [good price?]).

I'm a completely newb when it comes to this kind of thing (I didn't even realise I needed an amp until it was pointed out to me) but thought I'd invest in one before I go to university. I'm looking for a fairly simplistic amp with a remote for around £100 (if that's doable). It would be good to have it connected to my xbox 360, pc and a 3mm jack for my phone to play music at the same time. Again though, I'm not even sure if thats possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice and let me know if there's any other information I can provide.

I'm not sure what's available in your country, I believe a solid budget line from Teac is available in the UK though. I would look at their stereo receivers.

you'll have to copy and paste the one above, I can't make it hotlink.:(

Teac CR-H225 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Teac-CRH250-Shelf-System_W0QQitemZ190314565352QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_CompleteHifiS ystems?hash=item2c4fa1cee8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1300|240%3A13 18|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50)

The CR-H225 is newer and supports USB streaming.

Edit: More stuff

This one's a great deal.

Teac Reference 500 integrated amplifier (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TEAC-REFERENCE-500-INTEGRATED-AMP-superb-condition_W0QQitemZ290325745800QQcmdZViewItemQQptZ UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers?has h=item4398c35088&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A3|39%3A1|72%3A1690|240%3A13 18|301%3A0|293%3A2|294%3A100)

I wish I could get one in the States for such a good price.:(

also, this...

Teac AR-600 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TEAC-AR-600-AMP-NEAR-MINT-CONDITION-WITH-REMOTE_W0QQitemZ170346963196QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers?hash=i tem27a97860fc&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A3|39%3A1|72%3A1690|240%3A13 18|301%3A0|293%3A2|294%3A100)

I like the look and form factor better on the Ref 500, but the AR-600 has more power and probably will ultimately sound better with those speakers under higher output.

Thanks Seth.

Didn't even think about getting a used amp. Probably looking at the AR-600. What kind of leads would I need to connect this to my speakers, TV and PC (if that's even possible)?
