I am considering buying this TV, should I go for it or can I do better with something else? I do like plasma over LCD.

Is there a max size limit? Is there a max budget? How far will you sit from the TV?

You linked a good deal, though every once in a while you can spend just minimally more for 1080p. I've seen Costco sell Pana 1080p 42" for $800, but that was a while ago. OTOH, the lowest price I've seen them sell a 42" 720p Pana was for the same price as the Sears deal.

I'd go bigger and better if the space and budget allowed. If this is for the BR, or garage or something, ok then.

I bought a Samsung 40" a while back for my son 1080p LCD and it's a great TV. What I am looking for is a decend Plasma to replace my 26" Sony LCD in my bed room (which set me back $1800.00 a few years ago) You see I prefere Plasma over LCD and my eyesight is going bad so I need to get a bigger TV. Money is a little thight right now, and I am one that's alway's looking for a good deal. Maybe for a few dollars more I can do better?

You can find good deals on TVs on slickdeals.net, especially if you track prices for a few weeks.

42" 720p for the bedroom for that price is pretty good IMO. If you don't need it right away, I agree, you could probably do a little better than that, but it isn't a bad deal.
