480p on the Wii

I ordered some componet cables from monoprice and when i switched the Wii to 480p I get NASTY lines coming from the corners and making their way across the screen.

Switching back to 480i fixes the problem. Anyone have any idea if it's the cables....or the display.....or what!?

You're not using a CRT TV, are you?

Unfortunately one of Monoprice's Wii component cables is known to have issues. It could be you bought that one.

I have the official Wii component cable and have never had a problem.
