i have 3 speakers, i want to wire them all to my two channel amplifier, i have tewo speakers of 4 ohms and one speaker of 6 ohms. Would it work if i connected them in series? how would I do it? would it be harmful to connect speakers with different ohms?
I would not try that.
Loud speakers are a bit more complex than you would think. The “load” of the speaker is not just pure resistance (DC) but also inductive reactance (AC) and capacitive reactance (AC). By wiring them in series or parallel you will upset the nominal impedance that you amplifier expects to see. This improper impedance could damage your amplifier.
