5.1 ia work as 4.1

for some reaosn when I play my XBOX no sound comes from my center speaker. My Denon 1905 recieve says Dolby digital and the suround, two front speakers and sub work fine, but the center is mute.

I checked my DVD player and the center speaker works fine. Could it possibly the input on my reciever that I use for my XBOX doesnt work right anymore? or would it most likely be the game or XBOX?

Dolby Digital is not strictly 5.1 channels. It can be DD1.0, DD2.0, DD4.0(GTA: Vice City is this, which is probably the format used on the games you notice no center channel information) and up to DD6.1(DD-ES). Many concert DVD's lack the center channel info also.
