I can get either one for the same price, $250. Which would you buy? This years PM model but less features or last year's EX model but more features?

Panamax M4300-PM or Panamax 5300-EX ?

The 12v trigger on the 5300 is a great feature if you have components that you would like to turn on and off with the system.

That's a pretty basic system. Those are all components that I would always leave on. The 12v trigger would be handy for a sub that doesn't have auto-on, an external amplifier, video processor or even a cooling fan that you want to run only when the receiver is on.

I have the 5100 and had the 4100 and I'd say the step up to the 5xxx is worth it, especially since you are getting it for the same price.
