I have a new Sony BR HTIB that I need to upgrade the speakers on (it was gift and the speakers suck, but the receiver is pretty good). I have a new Velodyne Sub (dsl3750) and 5 old 2 way Panasonic surrounds and center. My room is 22x14 listening position 12' from 47" JVC HD. The Panny`s just have a cheap tinny sound and I like something richer and w/ more depth. Most of the speakers I am looking at I cannot afford. I could go piece meal or a system. They need to be wall mount. Like I said less than 5 hundy if possible. Any input would be appreciated!

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000 system got a pretty good review. Seems like a pretty good system for $399.

It comes with a sub, but you get a few bucks back by selling it.

I would look at the EMP HTP-351 bookshelves 5.1 system for $489. The speakers are supposed to be comparable to RBH models. The subwoofer is rated down to 30 Hz, and it sounds very good as do the other speakers in the set. If you price out the invidivual speakers in the set on the AH site you will find this set is a real bargain at $489.

EMP HTP-351 5.1 (bookshelf) Speaker System (list $1319) $489 (AH Store)
2 pairs of EF30 Bookshelf Speakers (2x$299 sale = $598)(AH Store)
1 EF30C Center Channel Speaker (1x$190=$190 sale)(AH Store)
1 E10s Powered Subwoofer (1x$349.95=$349.95 sale)(AH Store)

Total price bought separately = $598+$190+$349.95=$1137.90
Package on sale is 57% off individual pieces on sale.

The EMP EF30s are supposed to be like the RBH TK-5C as EMP is the internet brand and RBH is non-internet.

I thought they sounded great for the price and the subwoofer sounded great hooked up to an Onkyo 606 with Audyssey frequency and time domain equalization.

After reading TLS's review of the EMP's I'm directing people elsewhere. I suggest you look at the Infinity Beta series direct from Infinity.

Could you provide a link to this. I would be interested in reading it. Thanks.

I don't want to bash them. I know TLS had extremely high expectations for the price commercially I don't know if he could be satisfied.
