USB DACs (with a NAD and PC)

I'm sure this question/topic has been done to death. I'm new here and have a friend with a NAD integrated and PC whom needs a stand-alone DAC. Inexpensive is best.

He also asks is Toslink, USB or SPDIF (coax) best?
