I have a Sony dvd/vcr recorder. I am connected to Charter. Is there a way to record the music on the music channels to a cd to play in my car or cd player? What connections do I need and how do I set it up? Thanks for the help.
Hi, again. Please see my reply (http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showpost.php?p=517456&postcount=15) to your previous post on this topic. To restate it here:
Which Sony recorder do you have (model number), and which cable box (manufacturer and model number) do you have? If you let us know, we can look up some specifics on those units and be better able to help you out.

As best as I can figure its a Sony RDR-VX515 DVD/VCR recorder. The box for the cable is the Charter digital tuner box. The cable runs through the box into our television.

If you look at your manual, page 13 shows how to connect the audio (and composoite video) to your "Line 1 Input", or something like that. The manual also implies that it can, indeed, record CD's.
This allows you to channel the audio output into your recorder so it appears this is doable.
At this point I stopped reading. It's up to you to take it from here to read your manual and figure out how to make it record CD's.
