Wow, what to say good about this.
I like Mark Wahberg, that's about it.
Most of the rest of the people in it blow.
The over all atmosphere was interesting. Story was okay if you like that sort of thing.
PQ was bad to so so and it had the worst sound and gun fire sound I have ever heard in a movie.
Rent if you must.

That's disappointing to hear, I thought this could possible be a new reference disc.

There is a fair amount of action and the story is intriguing, but the negatives far out weight the positives in my opinion. It'll be interesting to see what others say.

I really enjoyed the sound of this movie in the theaters. I've been trying to pick it up on BD along with Pineapple Express for the last 2 days, but it's sold out.

I loved the games, hated the movie I felt the movie "Shoot em Up" with Clive Owen was more reminiscent of "Max Payne" than the Max Payne movie was. I felt the only thing the movie got right was the set designs. That was scary how much it looked like the games, but everything else was nothing like the game.

I am going to rent this one on Sheep's recommendation alone. It looks OK, not great, so expectations aren't high.

You better not pull a zumbo if you don't like it.

I know you had liked this when you saw it in the theater. I'll be interested to hear what you think after watching it at home.

Watched it last night and wasn't disappointed. The story is a bit thin and predictable, but the effects were very good and the LFE was off the charts as Sheep said it would be. The DTS-HD track was good overall, but sounded a bit flat at times; surround use was good in some scenes and a few nice low volume subtle scenes as well. Definitely worth a rental, but don't expect a movie you will need much brain power for. Stick around after the credits too for one of the biggest LFE drops I've heard since War of the Worlds.

I just went back and watched a few key scenes and I have to say this is probably the best gunfire I've heard so far. I think it actually displaces Heat for me in this respect (sound not gunfight), and that is saying a lot IMHO. There is a lot of weight to every shot and it sounds very good.

Wow, to me the gun fire sounded like nothing more than someone pounding on a big bass drum, and flat. I'll give it another go, but it just didn't sound like any gun fire I've ever heard.

Ok, you talked me into a rental ;) . I was looking at it thinking mindless thin plot action movie with awesome soundtrack and good effects....perfect for a Friday evening rental.

Is the gunfire as realistic as teh gunfire in Matrix where you could here the spent cartridges pinging as they fell on the floor?

The spent cartridges was one of the nicer effects :) Yes, the shots were bass heavy, but that is what I would expect in the indoor environment, especially the shotgun. The shotgun didn't quite sound right, but it had a lot of impact. The scene in the parking garage was very well done.

Just got done watching this on blu ray and I thought the bass was gonna tear the walls down... I've not hear my sub play that hard in quite some time... I liked the movie, but maybe it was just all the bass that I was liking. I did skip past the credits and see the scene at the end, and I'm surprised my sub didn't bottom out on that pulse.

I have been an avid fan of the video game series for years and I HATED the movie.

It in no way reflected even a notion of the game.

I mean he didn't even take 1 "painkiller" the whole movie......and Kunis...terrible!!
