Hello all, I am putting up a Plasma on my wall above the fireplace and has a mantle. I was wondering if there is a speaker out there that can provide my TV with a good sound performance that comes in only ONE speaker. It will go directly under my 50" Plasma and I can't put any other speakers anywhere else, therefore, I can only get one speaker up there.
Is there anything out there that will provide the sound/audio of my Plasma the "bump" it needs?? The stock speakers in the Plasma doesn't do well after 12 ft away from the TV.
Styles/Types and prices (if able) would be appreciated for choices.
Thanks!!

Do a search for "Sound Bars". Many companies make multi channel singe speaker solutions now.

Look at these from Def tech they are called C/L/Rs ( Center / Left/ Right). Because the Plasma is a "very high level" TV you might consider the flagship CLR3000. It is awesome, even has a built in powered subwoofer! It weighs about 55 lbs, but it is black with black gloss end caps and is not obstrusive into your visual ashtetics.
Size is 25" W x 8-5/16" H x 16" D | 63.5 x 21.1 x 40.6 cm
it retails for $1099.

Def Tech also has less cost center channel speakers
http://www.definitivetech.com/Products/Center/default.aspx
ProCenter 1000 $220
ProCenter 2000 $349
C/L/R 2002 $529
C/L/R 2300 $649
C/L/R 2500 $899
In addtion to the C/L/R 3000 the C/L/R 2300 and the C/L/R 2500 also have a powered subwooofer.
There is also a Mythos 3 and a Mythos 7 center channel.
In addtion to black they come in polished silver
Mythos 3 center channel speaker $399
Mythos 7 center channel speaker $549
Good Luck!

I am putting Def Tech's in my HT room! I love them. I remember seeing C/L/R speakers, but I didn't know that is what it meant.
Great!
Thanks!

Glad to help!. I have the 3000 C/L/R and it provides excellent sound just by itself.
Good Luck!

The CLRs are probably too big for that situation, but as Midcow mentioned check their Mythos (flat panel compatible) line if you'd like/able to put up the front three (L/C/R) speakers The SOLO (soundbar) is also available in that line.
