Dammit, the Coen Bros are my fav's and I still haven't seen this. Waiting for the price to drop still. Sorry I'm not contributing my own 3, just wanted to say this thread got me worked up for this title. :p

1.) Dark Knight
2.) Cloverfield
3.) TIE - between Iron Man and Tropic Thunder

So how about the worst movie of 2008?

I'm going to go ahead and throw in "The Happening" for now, but there were plenty of god-awful films that came out this year... :(

Cloverfield? Wasn't that 2007? It wasn't a good movie, but I enjoyed it for what it was. NOWHERE near deserving of being in the same company as Iron Man or Dark Knight IMO. I will however add Tropic Thunder as honorable mention for best :)

I was going to put a worst list in mine also:
Hellboy 2
Mummy 3

1. Dark Knight when I saw it in IMAX.
2. Dark Knight when I saw it at home.
3. Dark Knight when I saw it in a normal theater after IMAX.

=D

Really seems like I should watch the Dark Knight with my dad tonight. :D We keep putting it off, but it sure sounds popular.

1) Dark Night
&
Wall-E Tie for me. I loved them both.
3) Iron Man

My honorable mentions would be Hulk and KungFoo Panda. I have not seen the new Bond or Burn After Reading yet but am psyched to see them both.

My three would be - The Dark Knight, Quantum of Solace and a tie between Iron Man and the Counterfeiter. Great standouts in a year that was otherwise only so-so.

I will be interested in seeing what happens at Oscar time. I think the wheels are being lubricated to make Benjamin Button be the movie of the year, but honestly, I thought it was good, but only good. After all the pseudo-mythic fairly tale posturing of the story, at the end there wasn't much there...a well crafted movie but nothing beyond that.
