Bullets: Band of Brothers (well, the BDs at least) edit: I recommend episode "Carentan".

craziest surround: DTS-ES tracks on LOTR extended versions.

X-men3 gets honorable mention. Im sure there are TONS more... lemme find a thread for you...

Ok, here's one consumer generated list (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=918734). The OP is really into action films, Im pretty sure...

3:10 to Yuma is 7.1, at least in Blu-Ray. Plenty of bullets, trains, & action.

The Haunting DTS-ES, Blade II DTS-ES, LOTR - "EEs" DTS-ES.

On dvd, Darkness Falls has a lot of surround usage (the movie's stupid, but the surrounds are loud and used a lot). Black Hawk Down is good. If you've got BD, I'd definately check out the gun fight in 3:10 to Yuma. Check out the attack scene in the opening of Master & Commander, and the Scene in Hero when they let loose a bazillion arrows.

Darkness Falls was done by the same guy that did The Haunting and is an excellent example of how surround should be done. I agree, sort of a dumb movie, but the sound actually makes up for it in this one case.
