TV recommendations

My grandparents want to buy a new tv. They are looking at getting an LCD for $600. They will be using the speakers on the tv so recommendations need to be based on pq and sound.

I would appreciate any of you suggestions/ideas.

what is the room like? Do they watch the tv off axis? What is their current display?

They had an old CRT.

They will need to watch it off angle, approx 35 degrees

The room it going in will be about 3000 cubic feet, it is also open to their kitchen (no door).
