I just got the Logitech z5500, but they seem to sound noticeably worse than my last speakers.

My last speakers were just these:

Sony SRS-D21

Details I could hear with those speakers seem to be lost, the sound is much less crisp and clear, and the bass feels hugely uncontrolled and sloppy.

My sound card is:

Soundblaster x-fi xtreme audio

The system is definitely louder, but seems to sound a good amount worse. I've tried experimenting with bunches of equalizer settings to no avail.

Please help?

I was actually being a little stupid...the sound isn't worse, but I'm sure that it could be improved! (I'm actually not. x.x)

Any software I should check out? Or something?

That's how the logitech systems sound. I preferred them for games only. You can try EQing them with whatever music player you use. Other then that, there isn't much you can do.

If you can still return them, do so immediately. I can recommend to you speakers that are far, far superior.

There is X-Fi Crystallizer and CMSS settings on the card. Play with them a little and see what settings suit you. I have X-Fi on at about 40% most of time and use CMSS for headphones when gaming.
