Sharp displays (should I)

my father in law works for sharp business solutions and they're friends and family sale is coming up soon.

im thinking of trading up my 47" westy lcd for the same size or bigger sharp.
anyone suggest one ?

Well the D64U's are the lower end even though they do an awesome job and look great and then there are the D84U's mid and the D94U's. If you are getting employee pricing and saving a lot then I would get the top of the line one for the pric of a mid range or lower end Sharp...I mean why not. If you want to save money then get the lower end for the price of a much smaller TV you can get a lot bigger one instead:D

Just watch out for that banding. It's sad really that after all these years Sharp still has that problem with their LCDs.

And now Sharp is going to make all the LCD screens for Sony, Toshiba and Samsung, etc so lets see what happens. On my end I have not had any issues with banding:)

I would go mid-stream with the D84U.
