Hey guys,

I have a approx. 20'x20' room treated with a variety of acoustic panels. Directly behind the couch I have a set of bay doors (currently blacked out glass and a vinyl blind covering). Does anyone recommend or have experience with acoustical curtains? I would like to cover the doors with something that would help the room.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Attached is older pic of the room with no treatments up yet, sorry haven't taken any new shots of the room.

are you trying to block sound or tame the over all decay in the room? Curtains will not block at all, but will absorb high frequencies in the room.

I am trying to decay the sound. I am assuming that if the doors weren't there the best solution would be to treat the wall with panels. Are there any other options that could be done?

Yes - without doors, panels would be the best solution as they're more broadband in nature. Curtains can help damp things but only in the upper mids and highs. Whether this is a good solution depends on what else has been done in the room and what the balance is in terms of overall decay time.
