I shouldn't have waited so long! :o Still, I'll be right in the center, about 18 rows back- should be primo seats. :D For those who haven't heard them, Cantus is a professional mens vocal group. Their albums are eclectic, spanning Gregorian chant and medieavel sacred music to world music & other weird stuff (their CD "Let Your Voice Be Heard" features songs from Scandanavia, Africa & China as well as some English folk songs & sea shanties. It was recorded & produced by Stereophile's old editor, John Atkinson, and the magazine had a nifty feature on the group).
Their last album was actually recorded in the very same venue I'll be seeing them in (Great Hall of the Washington Pavilion- a wonderful newish SOTA hall here in SF, SD). The acoustics are fantastic, and I'll have a pretty good seat. I missed 'em last time they were in town and I've kicked myself every since.
Any fans of Cantus, or choral music in general?
