Someone over at AVS posted pics of what seems to be the new line of Paradigm Studio's... .v5
Seem to be much prettier. Tapered cabinets, and real wood veneer?
I am looking forward to seeing more info about these.
If anyone else has a chance, could they take some more pics at Cedia over there and upload

Wow those are nice looking speakers. I like the curved cabinet design. I really like the look and it helps that it helps cut the standing waves.

You are on Scotch 2 or I should be?

Might as well keep going.
I got to go to the distillery a few years back. Very cool. The bummer (for me) was my wife didn't do the tour because she had our little one and the people that worked there kept giving her samples the whole time. So I get back and get my little sample and she has tried everything they have.
The other neat thing is Glenmorangie has a deal with Jack Daniels where they buy all of their white oak barrels when they are done with them. It was odd walking into the storehouse and seeing JD on all the barrels.:D

Different from this pic, looks like a Studio 20 in the middle, no 40... just 2 and 3 way speakers.. and what is that on the left.. ?
Studio 10? Very interesting pictures... That is a 100 on the right with the proper amount of drivers... IMO...
Take a look at those ports... something is different there... Oval port on the far left speaker...? and Is that a Studio 60 in black..? There is a distinct difference in the shape of those cabinets compared to the Signature series.. Hmmm
http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=6252&d=1220651770
BTW If I was drinkin straight Vodka, I would probably put my nose up a little higher, but since I have a sweet tooth, and I mix with soda or lemonade or something like that. Stoli gets me there just the same...
Maybe this is a jump start on a serious revision on the Signature series... for next year... whats going on at Paradigm.. I have a feeling they are trying to stay at the forefront of technology...

Same with the .v2 Sigs... advertised the hell out of them, but didn't find their way to the dealers until spring... All that after news and info from Cedia...

Anyone know if the new studio line will use speaker grills that are actually made of cloth that is black and charcoal grey? I stayed away from studio v3 and v4 because of this. The grills were just so ugly and clashed too much with a black cabinet. I was also a never a fan of the ugly curved bottom face plate. I love my studio v2 (with deep black clothed grills) and classier look, but am itching to upgrade like many.

1. When I listened to them in 1997, it was like nails on a chalkboard. I absolutely hated them.

Its not much of a big deal with non-black speakers, but you can clearly see the clash with you subwoofer's grill and the paradigms grill.
One thing i did forget to mention is that the grill has the crazy plastic grid pattern on interior side beneath the cloth. Too me that adds a lot of surface to black the sound. I have never seen any other speaker manufacture do this. Paradigm doesnt even do this with their monitor line, or there older studio lines prior to v3.

I was told a long time ago by a Paradigm dealer that ever since the introduction of the Signature line, if the Studio's get an upgrade the Sigs follow right after. Reason being is that he found out that the studio's were extremely similar to the last generation signatures that went before them. For example he said that when the v.4 Studio came out, they came out with the v.2 Sigs right after and the v.4 looked and sounded extremely similar to the v.1 Sigs. And isn't it just me or do the new Studio v.5's look extremely similar to the current v.2 Sigs?
Honestly it's pretty ingenious of Paradigm if they do that since they really only have to design one line from the ground up instead of two.

They are very close indeed, although the new studios only got a cabinet upgrade, the sigs have a ? better ? mid bass driver, and Be tweeter.
I am looking forward to what Paradigm will come out with for the upgrade of the Signature speakers...

If Paradigm announces a new Signature line after the release of the Studio v.5 I bet the Studio v.5's are just rebadged Signature v.2's. Even if the Studio does not get the Be tweeter, I bet the rest of the speaker is a Sig v.2.

Haha, well thank you ... but if Paradigm tried to produce that cab construction with their margins it'd end up costing about $15K  They might do it someday, but in the meantime they'll milk customers for 5 more minor revisions before getting to that point.

I was looking at the brochure for the studio series that I have had at home for at least six or more months, and I noted that it says "v5" on them. It seems these have been out for a long time now. However, at the Paradigm site, there is a v6 catalog on line. Here is the link. (http://www.paradigm.com/en/pdf/reference_catalog_6.pdf) Nee I say more?:D

.v5 of the Monitor line
.v2 of the Signature line...
The new version of the Studio's will have a rounded cabinet and it will be .v5.

Perhaps they are versioning the catalog. If you look at their downloads page, most all of the brochures are now branded "NEW".

Haha, well thank you ... but if Paradigm tried to produce that cab construction with their margins it'd end up costing about $15K  They might do it someday, but in the meantime they'll milk customers for 5 more minor revisions before getting to that point.
A job in Canada? St Louis winters are bad enough!
Thanks for the props though. Imagine how good a pair would look in your system!
I think his speakers should sell for about 10k. He-he.

Are all those speakers in this photo in the studio line? If so, what is that speaker right next to the 20? Is that the new 60? If so, it looks like they added another driver, right? The old 60 was basically just a 40 in a bigger cabinet - which I found rather pointless.
I wonder then, if they added another driver to the 60, did they add another driver to the 100s?
Perhaps this was already pointed out - but can anyone confirm that?

Good catch drinke..... when they added the S6 to the Sig line they went to a 3 way design. Maybe thats what they are doing with the New Studio 60.
That will only leave the Studio 40 as a 2 1/2 way design.... As good as the Sig S4 sounds as a 2 1/2 way design, I prefer the 3 way over it for better midrange clarity....

Right - I would likely have went directly with the 60s (as opposed to the 40s - which I now have and owe a review on).
With an additional driver on the 60s (which I also like the sound of), you might logically think that they would almost have to add another driver to the 100s.
Otherwise I wonder if perhaps the 100s would be viewed as not being worth the upgrade.
Presumably this might be the reason why the current S6 and S8s are configured the way they are.

I talked with my dealer yesterday, and as far as they know, there is no ETA on the .v5 line.
EDIT-
I found this post (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=14755489) in which someone said their dealer says first quarter 2009.
BTW - my dealer said there will be no driver changes or sound improvements. Just the new cabinet.
All the best,

I have to set some type of rule around this for myself. I really like the curved cabs and since my HT room is my living room, looks mean a lot.
I think I will set 500 bucks as the deal breaker. This means if my dealer will take my 100's and let me trade up for 500 bucks or less, then I will get them. Since he gave me full price back on the 40's(after 1 year) when I upgraded to the 100's, I bet he will do this.

My dealer has a +25% rule with a 100% credit for one-year generally applied to upgrades, but the 25% would apply to a lateral move if the new model is +25% of the old model price. So, they are willing to give me the current model at 15% off so that when the new model comes out with the expected 10% increase, it will be at least 25% more than what I paid for the current model.
But, that means a significant change for me. I'm planning on a 100's / CC690 and putting my display on top of the 690. With the curved cabinet, I would have to get a flat panel mount for my Salamander Sonoma at ~$500. That would mean an extra $1K or so (the mount plus the speaker difference) that I don't think I am willing to part with.
I would be starting from scratch so I might as well wait for the v.5 even if the drivers are the same (e.g. for the Studio 100). Hopefully we'll see the v.5 speakers by late April or early May.
And even if the "only" change is in the cabinet design that should affect the sound quality or "character".
Will be interesting demoing a complete v.5 system (Studio 100, CC690 and Studio 20). Planning to try a SVS sub.

Hello TRT,
Which v.5's? All of them?? All the "Studio Reference v.5" models?? So far all the news say April-May. You wouldn't happen to have a link would you? Paradigm doesn't even list the new v.5 Studio Reference models yet. :)

The reason they are not listed yet is to give dealers time to clear out the v.4's. I ordered the v.5's on Wed. 100's/690/590's/sub-12. I'm waiting on email to confirm del. date.

Well, if that's the case, then I guess there's a good chance I'll be joining the club in April. Would still want to demo them but I don't think I'll hear a "problem". If they sound anything like the v2-v4 I should love them.
Did you demo them? Or did you just put in your order as soon as you heard they were available?
Also, when you guys get your Studio ref v5, please post some pics.
This is good news. :) Was considering PSB Synchrony too but I hate the fact that they are manufactured in China. Yes I am biased (for now). Rather buy speakers made in Canada, the US or UK. Also on my short list are KEF XQ.

I did not listen to the v.5's, I'm upgrading a 20 year old setup, so I am sure I will be ecstatic with the improvement. I went with the rosewood finish, someone posted the cherry looked better, I wish I could have seen them first. No word on when they will arrive, only that the order has been received.

Well Bluegrassbubba when you do get your system let us know. Take some pics as well and post. And I'm not sure which faux wood finish I'd go for. Probably the cherry. Eager to demo them in a few months when I'm back home. Should like the sound quality as I said. But I definitely will need to demo them first.
I have liked the sound for KEF Coda's (entry-level series) so I'm pretty sure I'll probably love the sound from their higher-end XQ series. And while I'm not crazy about the fact that PSB has their speakers assembled in China I won't write off their Synchrony line yet. Have always found PSB (Stratus) the most "musical" sounding. Paradigms have been very neutral (which some people want).

Paradigm and sister company Anthem are really, really bad at updating their websites.
I have been a fan of Paradigm for quite a few years, and being a younger generation, am used to getting all of my info online. They have consistently been sometimes a year behind on updating it. Boo!
Not sure I agree Strube. Paradigm, updated their website with the v.5 Monitor series pretty fast. I'm not exactly sure how long after they were announced though. But the v.5 Monitor series has been on the website for months.
In any case, I hope to see them listed on their website soon. Though, at this rate, I would have arrived back home in Toronto and have had a chance to demo them already. Perhaps even placed an order for the v.5 Studio system. :)

My local dealer did not mention a new version until I asked him about it. My guess is that he is trying to get rid of all the V4's he has in stock. Now comes the problem: exact same V4 from another authorizes dealer in a different state was $325 cheaper! I wasn't trying to low ball either place that is just the price diff. I was quoted. I only checked the other store because I was out of town. So how will I know if I am getting the best price? Do i need to check all the surounding states? I will end up buying the V4's or V5's (once I see them). I am new to this, please bare with me. Any ideas on the price of the V5's?

Sure it's normal. They can mark them up as they see fit. I have two quotes, with a 200 buck difference, on just a center channel right now.
I went to my dealers last week with full intention of being blown away by the new looks and trading in my v.4 for the v.5. After looking at them side by side, I decided I liked the way the old ones look. This socked me as I have been drooling over the pictures of the v.5's.

When it comes to speakers prices can vary greatly. To me they are almost like gas, you pay more for it where they know you will pay (ie right on the highway or downtown), than you do in the suburbs. Where stores know they can get an extra 100 or 2 for a speaker they will. Shop around and see what prices you get.
Wow that didn't take long to edit:) It also helps if you have a good relationship with the dealer, they are known to give discounts.

This is becoming a real pain in my a**... I called the out of town dealer, he has now dropped the price even more in an effort to get rid of his V4 models. He is currently $422 cheaper than my local guy. So, I called my local guy to see what he could do. Instead of dropping his price, he said if the out of town dealer sells to me and I ever have a need for warrsnty service that it will have to go back to where I originally bought them. Paradigm will not allow him to service speakers bought from another dealer out of state. And, that Paradigm will shut that dealer down for selling to me. He said they do this so that the dealers territory is protected. It kinda made sence but really hacked me off because in the end he would not budge off his now much higher price.
Has anyone heard of this before? I just wanted a pair of speakers at a decent price so why should't I be able to shop around? And shouldn't any authorized Paradigm dealer help me with any possible warranty issues that may come up regusrdless from which one I purchased them from?

I posted a new thread on my issues with Paradigm, I did not want to hi-jack this one... Paradigm dealer/warranty - be aware...
thanks for your help...
I think Paradigm is in the process of updating their website finally with v.5 "speaker". When I clicked on the Paradigm Ref icon on the top right the first speaker was the v.5 Studio 10. Other than that you only see a picture of the v.5 version of the CC690. When you click on "center" speaker. But if you click on the CC690 link you just see a picture of the v.4. Wonder how much longer it's going to take them to fully update all Ref Studio webpages with v.5 photos and data heh...
No matter. I will be back in Toronto next month to demo the v.5 in a HT setup any how. Will see if my new HT will include the v.5 or not then.
BTW...you can now download Paradigms "Reference Catalogue 7.0" now. Has photos and information of all v.5 speakers. Now if only Paradigm would update the Ref Studio pages...
Sorry about the double post. Have asked to have one removed. :)

Sub-15, 2799.00
That IS a good starting bid. But I'd prefer dealing with an established shop and salesman.
Btw...Paradigm has finally updated their website with all the new v.5 speakers. This includes the two new Studio subs. Wonder how much the new subs run.
Looking fwd to arriving home to demo a v.5 HT system. Just might be buying another Paradigm HT setup. :)

The funny thing is, I bought my v.4's from this seller. He's a good guy in Kitchener, spent a couple hours down at his house packaging up a set of the v.4's, as at the time he had bought two pairs brand new and the wife and child didn't like having a set upstairs and downstairs.
Thanks for the pricing Blue. Is that in Canuck$? Or US$? Either way those prices I might as well go with my first choice which is either a SVS PC13 Ultra or PB13 Ultra. Costs slightly less. And I always wanted to try a SVS.
Has any one else noticed the resemblance to the B&W 800 series speakers?? :) Though, IMHO I think the v.5 look much better. I honestly do not like the teardrop tweeter that sits on the top of B&W 800 series speakers. I much prefer what Paradigm did and integrate it into the cabinet.
Now, how do the v.5 sound? Compared to the B&W 800 series, PSB Synchrony, KEF XQ...etc.? Will find out next month. So eager to get home to do a lot of demoing (one of the fun parts of buying a completely new HT system). Will be like Xmas except I'll be footing the bill. :)
And if I go with the v.5 I'll be deciding between the rosenut and cherry veneers. Haven't seen them in--person yet. Will depend how "real" they look or how plasticy. If they do then I'll just order them in basic black.
Maybe some one with a v.5 Studio 60 or 100 could take a few photos? Close enough for us to tell how good the veneer looks. Some one with a DSLR and a bit of talent? :)

Hm IMO the Paradigm Signature series would be the comparable line to the B&W 800 series...
Hey bigred,
Agreed. The B&W 800 series should really be compared to the Paradigm Signatures. Though IMHO if you're willing to pay the price for a Signature system you might as well go for a B&W 800 system. I don't feel the Signature differentiates itself enough from the Studios. They share too much tech.
The question for me is how much more impressive are the 800 series vs. the Studio v.5. As I am vaguely considering an "entry-level" 800 HT system as well. Is the difference night and day? Or very incremental? Or will I just prefer the overall sound from the Studio v.5? Or the PSB Synchrony's, KEF XQ...etc.

I think they look similar also but the digms added there own personal touch to the v5 imo
As I said. I think the v.5 Studios look MUCH better. No protruding tweet. Will probably end up with the v.5 Studios as I watch movies more than I listen to music (which is where I think PSB's shine). But will see. I recall demoing KEF Coda series speakers maybe 10 yrs ago in a HT setup. Powered by Marantz receiver. Was very impressed with the sound quality. Just the cheap build quality was lacking. But it was KEF's entry-level series any how. Though, since I liked the Coda I just might love the XQ as it uses KEF's "Uni-Q" midrange driver technology. Was told it's "good". Haven't heard it yet.

Well i don't know about that. Perhaps they share the common trickle down effect much like how the B&W 683's share the FST from the higher end 800 series, but this does not mean the 683's will be the same as the 802D's. The studios do have this similar methodology, but they are still pretty different.
The B&W's have their highly acclaimed diamond tweeters found on their highest end gear, just like the Paradigm Signatures have the highly sought after beryllium tweeters. These Be tweeters are some of the best around, and this definately separates them from the pack. They do share similar design as the Studios, but the crossover networks, tweeters and other drivers are all of higher quality.

Agreed Bigred. Not sure why I felt their technology was more similar than it actually is. :) I was aware of the Be tweets in the Signatures. Any how, the Signatures would be too much speaker for the room I'm intending to setup my new HT. Actually the Studio v.5 might be pushing it (planning on the Studio 100's for mains, CC690 and a pair of either Studio 10's or 20's...as I've mentioned...and a SVS sub).
Another 3 to 5 weeks and I can go demoing!! WooHOO!! :) Vienna's...heard good things about them. Never had the opportunity to audition those.

Congrats on the new gear Bluegrassbubba!! Thanks for posting the pics. The Rosenut veneer is nice. Actually looks "real" and not "plasticy" as on some other brands. I think I'll be ordering the Rosenut...though I would like to see them in Cherry too first.

I considered the Cherry but after seeing it, it was a little orange to me, not the nice color of the Sig's. Yes the riser is Salamader as well, they offer 8, 10,11,12 inch on the posts for the riser. I've got two of these racks, nice construction, I like them.

lol its all good man. The studio 100's are a fantastic speaker though! If you get the setup you are planning for you will definately have a rocking setup!
And i love my Viennas, but if you wanting mainly a HT setup then look elsewhere (unless you cant stand bright speakers), but if your like me and are more focused on music, then the Viennas certainly are the perfect intimate listening speaker :)
Im wanting to eventually pick up the same 'digm package you want for a dedicated HT

Just demoed the v.5 system. In my case it was with both the Studio 60 or 100, cc590 and a pair of 20's. And the Sub 12. Used the Pioneer Elite 09 receiver (the $7000 flagship...I would consider the 07 at roughly 2k). Played the Iron Man Blu-ray.
First up. Studio 60 as the "mains". At the end of the demo I thought he had hooked up the 100's. :) Had very good weight, clearity...good balanced speaker.
Then he hooked up the 100's. The difference is VERY noticeable. There was so much more body and presence. More dynamic range. So tempted to go with the 100's now. Just a little concerned it might be too much speaker for the room size. And that I will be living in a town-home. :)
Price difference between packages (including stands for the surrounds) was only $1000.00 CAD.
Finishes. The Studio 100's were in the "black". Still looks cheap IMHO. The 60's in "rosenut". MUCH better. So I think I will likely go with rosenut. Cherry should be fine (didn't see it at the shop) but I think rosenut looks more pleasing.
Unfortunately for me I won't be able to buy for roughly 3 weeks more. As I am setting up my new place. At least I'm pretty sure I'm going with the v.5.
Heard the PSB Synchrony One's in stereo setup. VERY nice sounding. More musically pleasing than the Paradigms. Has that more "hi-end sound". Then again they were powered by some hi-end separates. Forget the name of the amp. And the PSB HT system I would look at would cost me $3000 more than the v.5 system with the 100. Hmmm...

Great new setup man. The salamander stands with the riser should work out great for you. I honestly dont know anyone online who gives good discounts on the new salamander stands. You could always try a B&M shop near you as i have found alot of smaller dealers carrying salamander. The other suggestion is Best Buy as they have a few salamander stands (Although im not sure if they carry the quad...) and work a deal with them. Then you can order the riser from Salamander. Just an idea. :)

Good job! Thanks for the pics. I also noticed that you had to support underneath the stand in the middle to prevent sagging. :D
Is your 690 a v4? My v5 does not have the feet. Instead it comes with pair of attached oval shape brkts in the middle bottom (for attachment to a stand or by using rubber bumpers if not).

Yes, I have the .v4 system, which have the nice adjustable feet....
I and many others are quite disappointed in Paradigms decision with the .v5's center channel that has no ability to adjust the angle... I think that is a big drawback.

I can get a used pair of v.4's locally that are in as new condition for $900 or I can bite the bullet and buy the new ones for $1,600. Theoretically the .v4 60's or .v4 40's will have greater SPL with the larger drivers having more output or surface area over the smaller drivers of the 60's .v5's.
I would venture to guess that Paradigm was trying to put a distinct separation between the 60's and the 100's by using 2 different size drivers. This has always been a huge contemplation and question of the difference of the 2 in the .v3 and .v4 as to how much of a difference you will get from the 60's to the 100's and now Paradigm has made them farther apart then before.....
The 2 way design of the .v4 60's was still very good sounding just like the .v4 40's were, and the true performance upgrade to the 100's brought a true 3 way design with the dedicated mid range. But now with the .v5's when you move up to the 100's you get bigger drivers and they dropped the 40's all together so there was no overlap in performance of the 40's to the 60's. Why buy a stand mount speaker when you can get the 60's for about the same price as the 40's with a stand... wise choice on Paradigm's behalf. Less product to deal with and less questions coming from the consumer.
Want more get the 100's, don't need all that much.... get the 60's simple logic.
IMO, the new .v5's are not that big an upgrade in sound as much as looks...

Thanks Warpdrv...I was also wondering if you knew what some of the differences in the v.3 to v.4 Studio line would have been. As there is a dealer selling his demo black Studio 100's v.3's for a great price and that sounds inticing as well---not to mention they will come with a warranty...
I thought I have read a couple of times that some users preferred the v.3 over v.4---but that is totally subjective. Nonetheless if I could snag a set of the 100's I might go for it....either the 60's or 100's will be a step up in sound quality from my RTi12's from what I have heard thus far...
Warpdrv
05-22-2009, 12:26 PM
When I was looking at the Studio line, the .v4 just came out and the dealer had a set of .v3's and .v4 100's.... I made him put them side by side and listened back and fort for hours, dealer was quite accommodating, but he got a decent sale out of it.
IMO the difference between the .v3 and .v4 was so small that I could hardly tell the difference. I would have been more then happy with the .v3's but the .v4's were the new hotness and I went for them instead. If you can score a really sweet deal on them, I wouldn't hesitate. He's obviously been sitting of them for quite some time here is and sounds like he is motivated to more them.

Sometimes its against manufacturer policy to sell product online without consent and that would therefore void the warranty. Other dealers do not like to ship product because 1.) it's a hassle 2.) to much risk for it to be damaged 3.) They end up eating the shipping charges if you are not wanting to pay them. I suggest you plan some time in advance to make a trip out to a dealer since it sounds like you don't have one locally.

Hello everyone,
I'm new here. Just want to say hello and put my two cents in.
Before I get to the Paradigm's let me rant a few paragraphs first.
I have been looking for some nice floor standing speakers to replace my Proac 2000 Signatures bookshelf speakers. I just want some dynamics and bass for once. I been looking at many speakers and notice how many of them, and also electronics, are now being made in China!
I have to agree with some other people on here like bluegrassbubba. I was thinking of getting PSB speakers but just found out they sold out and are making ALL of their speakers in China.
It really makes me mad and sad. I am not Canadian, but I have no respect for these people and companies who sell out there workers jobs so they can make a thicker profit. People like Paul Barton from PSB speakers. He uses the acoustical resources of Canada’s National Research Council in Ottawa, Canada. This is paid by Canadian tax payers to help fund HIS research. Then he moves his manufacturing to China and fires most his workers. Boo to him. Thumbs down. Sell out!
I also don't see his speakers being any less expensive either since the move. Where is the profit going to?? If all the manufacturing in First World countries move to China then who in these First World countries will be able to afford those products when they have fewer and fewer jobs to pay for them?
I like our standard of living in Europe, North America, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. It should be protected. We have workers rights, human rights, and environmental standards. None of which China has. They are selling us down the polluted Yellow river.
Well, on that unhappy note lets turn to something more happy.
I just listened the other day to the Paradigm Studio 60's V.5. I have to say I really liked them a lot. The build quality is absolutley first rate. They are a very neuteral sounding speaker with a big soundstage. Clear, not too bright, and with good bass.
They were hooked up to a Jolida 302 integrated amp and those 50 tube watts drove them just fine. I liked the sound with the tubes and the Paradigms together. Very, very nice. Clarity and warmth all in one. Also, a nod goes to the Jolida which impressed me way more than I ever thought it would.
So I think I will buy the Paradigm's. Same price as the PSB Imagines but better built (non toxic too :) and most important, Made in Canada!

The 60's impressed me the least out of all the Studio Series. The 40's pretty much keep up with them for less money and the 100's blow them away.

Today I went to a local Paradigm Dealer to check out the new Studio 100 V.5. I spent 2 hours listening to them. I could not believe how loud, clear, detailed, and accurate they were. I cranked them up and there was no fatigue or harshness. I never noticed how poor some of the recordings were until I heard them through these speakers. I didn't get a chance to see how they sound with HT movies....I can only imagine they will be very detailed.
I think I found my next speaker. I can see why there are many loyal Paradigm customers out there....v.5 rocks!

For what its worth, I recently bought NIB 40 v3s (I already owned the 40 v4s).
I've had the v3s in my home now for several months, and after many many hours of side-by-side listening, on many different types and sources of music, I think the basic difference is that the v3s are a more forward speaker and I think for that reason may give the impression, perhaps, of a broader sound stage (I notice this mainly on vocals) and the impression I get is that there is slight loss of detail.
The 40s are, by contrast, a more laid back speaker, less forward, but also with very an excellent sound stage. I found they are also a little more detailed.
But having said this, you are right, it is subjective - both are very good speakers. I think each has certain strenghts but they are slight - and the observations I made above are based on a lot of very critical (almost psychotic) listening.
I got a great deal on the 3s, so no complaints - and they are excellent for their location (2nd room). If I had to give the edge, it might be to the 4s simply because they are slightly more detailed.
