hi,
I love the deep bad *** rumble that fills any room during an exciting movie scene or the sound of a classic song when the drums or bass guitar kicks in :D.
Although not every one (ie the misses) shares my passion, i do like to flex it every so ofter just to receive a pair of rolling eyes
And just to have a little bit of fun i am calling all you bass finatics out there to send in some pics of your sub, or maybe one you would like to own. Maybe even a pic of the biggest sub you have ever seen would be cool. :)
Let see how wide my eyes () will go....
i will start off, this is what i have: Australian designed Jensen 160W rms, brilliant little thing, 10" driver makes everything rumble and maybe even your neighbors ears explode

They are the Premier J series made for Paradigm. I sold them, along with the 40's last month. Here is a little better shot of them.

HOLY $#!t , I am your new best friend , boy oh boy my eyes did not only pop out they virtually exploded.
Man my misses would be so angry the day i show up with 4 subs, especially those beasts. She was already looking very nervous when i bought the box home from my current sub :p.
Non the less i have already put the idea of a mutlitple sub system out there, you know you have to ease them into the idea before going full monty on them

Bro !!! i still cant believe it i had a second look :o, for your neighbors sake i hope they live at least 1 mile away from you :D
I also wanted to add, dude you must have a monster power bill every month after listening to that system for 2 hours while you favourite movie is playing. My power bill has gone up $30 over the last month, that is when i got into the whole home theater kit. But since its been a little cold we have also been using the heater quite alot aswell.
Hooray for power hungry subs lol

I have another unrelated question for you, it looks like you are using the PIONEER DV-490 dvd player in one of your setups, or thats what i can tell from the picture anyway. My dad has one (pretty much brand new) he only had it for 1 month and upgraded to a dvd recorder. Since i only have the dv300 from pioneer without hdmi i was wondering if you thought it was worth taking his instead of mine. Is the HDMI upscaling really worth it on that model, if so i will have to fork out for a cable thats all and i am pretty broke right now.
Just wanted a users opinion, dad does not have hdmi inputs on his lcd's so we have not had the chance to test it.
Although mike is a tough act to follow here is my beauty {next to my old JBL}. It still makes me grin and giggle while watching movies. :D

when i switched from an ordinary player to the 490v, it really did improve the pic, but i saw improvement from a 40" screen sitting 8 feet away, your mileage may vary.
i also have the newer iteration of the 490v, the 600v - it's much less buggy than the 490v and there's a also the latest iteration (which i dont have), the 610v :)

thanks for that i have purchased a hdmi cable (not a snake oil piece of S#$T either) cost me $20 NZ which is something like $12 us i think a really bargain one and lol i bet is about the same quality of about the higher grade ones especially for the dv490V player

Heres a couple songs that have some pretty deep bass. Since building my own subs i have really been dissaponted with the bass in most music. What might sound like it has alot of bass on a regular system, really doesnt when you play it on something that actually can play deep bass.
Eminem- Yellow Brick Road
Akon- Blown away
Jayz- Dirt off your shoulder (not throughout the entire song but theres some cool parts at 2:22 and 3:20)

I can't post pictures or links yet, but I have a Velodyne CHT-12 and am getting a SVS 20-39 PC+ on Friday.
Here's a few other songs I've found with good base:
Pretty much any song on N.E.R.D.- Seeing Sounds
Pretty much any song on Taproot- Welcome
Sonique- Feels So Good
Korn- Freak on a Leash : near the beginning is a cool base part

I really powerful sounding (drum and bass heavy, and not the techno kind) song is "The Eleventh Hour" by August Burns Red. Its metal, but it literally starts with a great sub-warmer drum riff. Sometimes I just listen to the first 20 seconds of it and switch to a different song.
