I need a little help making a decision here. Our new condo wasn't soundproofed correctly so the contractor will be re-doing the entire ceiling and all shared walls using the RSIC-1 clips. My wife and I had the thought of installing in-walls since construction will be happening anyways. We were thinking something like the Mordaunt-Short or RBH in-walls, but I admit I have little experience with in-walls speakers nor how easy they're to install after the fact or during. How involved is this and what are your thoughts?

Why not run the speaker wire through the walls while they are open. Then wall mount some good bookshelf speakers. In wall speakers don't have a very predictable sound becuase every wall is different.

That is why you purchase in-wall speakers with enclosures.
I'm a fan of the Speakercraft Cinema series.

So far I'm considering NHT, PSB, RBH, Tannoy, Mordaunt-Short, and Speakercraft. I know some like the MS offer enclosures. I will likely try and audition some, but as someone pointed out this proves tricky because of wall construction. Anyone have experience with any of these brands for in-walls?

My other concern is how much in-wall speakers will cause resonating in the wall to which they're attached.

I just finished my basement into a dedicated HT room. With 7.1 in wall. I went with Monitor audio in walls for the sides, and monitors for rear in ceiling. Installation is cake assuming you have it pre-wired. They came with a template for installation and they also have built in enclosures. I couldn't be happier with the sound and looks of them.

These http://www.nilesaudio.com/product.php?prodID=IW2650LCR&recordID=In-wall,%20Enclosed%20Home%20Theater%20Loudspeakers&categoryID=StageFront&catcdID=13&prdcdID=FG01329 come with enclosers, and provide great sound. As mentioned speakercraft also makes excellent inwalls.

Another possibility I'm considering are the Axiom on-wall speakers.

Down to Speakercraft, Aperion, NHT, Mordaunt-Short, and RBH. I'm familiar with all but Speakercraft's sound signature. Those of you that have heard them, how do Speakercraft generally sound compared to the other 4 brands I've mentioned?
