I'm thinking of upgrading, but I'm wondering what the Swans sound like, compared to my Monitor Audio BR4s. Shipping to and from the seller is the only downfall that I've found with online speaker dealers, so feedback from current owners or those who have had an in home demo would help.

Laid back?

Forward?

Anyone? Anyone?

:D

thanks!

i have 6.1s in my main system and they are more forward than my vandy 1s in my second system.

they sound good though.

i tried both in the main room and settled on the swans. they are more revealing, and i think my gear is a little laid back. sometimes i think they are a little harsh, but then so is a cymbal in a jazz club. the vandys are a little easier sometimes, but a little fake sounding sometimes. splitting hairs, but i hope you get the idea.

i have listened to some 10k+ speakers to replace them and just haven't been movtivated enough for the marginal gain.

That isn't the case (Unless you have some CRAPPY gear).

thanks for offering that. i have some good gear.
i had some thiel 3.7s put in. i liked them in the store, but a direct comparison didn't justify it.

i have very good gear actually - musical fidelity... jacka$$.
