Denon firmware updating [Archive] - Audioholics Home Theater Forums

I have a Denon 3808ci. Why can't I download firmware updates and put them on cd then install them instead of cable updating? Or did I miss it on the Denon site

my understanding is you can only update via the ethernet port. Page 20 of the manual says you need an internet connection via that port to update. You would think it would be possible via usb. You could call denon and ask.

BTW, as far as I can tell there is no firmware update for the 3808ci.

Yes there is. You have to find out which firmware your receiver has. If it has 1.28, then you have to upgrade to 1.69. Go to the AVSForum.com and there's a thread about this subject. I bought the 3808CI a week ago and updated it. It's a little bit tricky so you have to be patient. By the way I love this receiver:)
