Problem with Sharp Aquos?

Hi i have a 52in Sharp Aquos LCD and it was fine this mornning but i turned it back on this afternoon and the whole screen is full of different colored dots, they are not in the brodcast becaust they dont move around it is like they are right in the screen. I also unhooked it from my new reciver and hooked my direct tv box right to my tv but it made no difference, just wondering if anyone might have an idea what is wrong with it, thanks for any help.

Try unplugging everything from power and let it set for about 5 minutes. Every thing has computer chips in it and sometimes something goes wrong and if you let it set upowered for about 5 minutes the chips reset and everything may work normal.

Somewhat strange, but I've seen it before.
It's either the logic board that drives the display, or a cable from it to the display itself malfunctioning (typically the boards get hot or a cable is loose from the factory).
It could be a problem with voltage or software errors; my Moto Razr will from time to time do this while starting up (first time however was a drop).

It really could be the software that controls how the picture is displayed on the panel.
Sharp supposedly makes the best LCD's...

Well i just let it set for awhile and it is fine now, so mybe i wont have to worry about it. Thanks for the help
