Marantz CD5001 and CDR playback

I am considering the purchase of a new Marantz CD5001 cd player. Looks like a a good bang for the buck player for my midrange system.

I have heard that some of the "audiophile" CD players have problems playing CDR and CD-RW discs. I find this very odd considering a $50 RCA from walmart has no problems nor does my 15 year old Kenwood that only cost $100.

Anyone have any experience with this player and CDR's???
