Ok, I am shopping around when we move for a system in the realm of $2800 - $3500 and love the Canton GLE series.

But b4 I move I am in the need of Towers. Someone is willing to sell me a pair of IL40's. It will be in a room that is 10' by 10' so small room.

Are these a good buy at $290 for the pair. I have read some really good reviews of these speakers. I heard they sound fantastic and some reviews say they sound better than current infinity models even the new cascade models. I mean they were $1200 a pair in 2000-2003. Let me know if you know anything about them?

I can live without towers but would love to add these as my zone 2 speakers once we move and I get the Canton GLE series. Would these be worth it for the time being and be good for Zone 2 later?

Thank you!

Absolutely. The interlude was Infinity's next to top of the line. Very detailed speakers and IMO a bargain at that price.

This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I got it for $290 and they are in MINT condition!! Not a scratch on them and they sound PERFECT! I was going to just use these as music towers and then put them in Zone 2 when we move... I may build a system with these speakers. I love the sound.

I see on Ebay that they have the IL36c which I believe is the Center that goes with this system.

My question is now... Can I get the prelude dipole (2 pair) for the surrounds? I think they have the CCMD technology would that sound consistent?

Or can I go with IL30's for surround and then go with either the IL10 bookshelf or Prelude Dipole... which would anyone recommend?

Let me know.

If you intend to listen to 5 channel music then I would pass on the di=poles as surrounds. If the system will be 2 channel critical listening and HT the above-mentioned di-poles should work well.

People see my equipment and the Infinity speakers listed and wonder why I don't have better speakers. Now you know why I don't need better speakers.:D
