Off Work Early - St. Louis ice storm

We got let out of work (paid) today 2/21/08 at about 1:00 PM central time because of a series of ice storms passing through. Heads up if your east of St. Louis. I can remember only two times in 20 years that we were let out early. Made it home ok and just relaxing by the fireplace.

I have relatives north of Springfield, MO. I wonder how they're fairing? Is it pretty bad?

We didn't, but I guess that's one of the quirks of working for the power company (not Ameren!). Ice must be bad on powerlines or something ;) Lucky you!

LOL, I got caught in that storm....will post a separate thread about it. I noticed on the news that day that they had closed nearly all schools in the area too.
