Depends on what speakers you intend to use with them, they are all competent peformers with the Yamaha being the most neutral and accurate if matched with the right speakers.

Yes, i think the Denon would be better; is a more solid amp. However, Denon chasis is made of plastic and i don`t like it. Maybe you should try the Yamaha too, some people like the "bright" (call it "more natural") sound of Yamaha.

As I said, give them a thorough audition with speakers of your choice, sound perceptions differ from person to person. As for being solidly built, Yamaha's have always had heavier transformers and have had the best switches among others.

Many of the statements that have been made in this thread are highly debatable. If you can audition the receivers, do so before purchasing. Value-wise out of the list the Onkyo would be the best choice in my opinion. Also read the review of the TX-SR601 at the Audioholics site. Rated at 85 wpc it drove 4 ohm axioms pretty well. Yamaha does not necessarily have heavier transformers (it all depends on the model and the price as far as that is concerned).
