Anyone seen it?
The trailer was very promising but the comments on IMDB http://imdb.com/title/tt0489099/ generally say that it leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes, I went on Thursday, matinee. Interesting, has faults but it left a craving for more explanations, an opening for a TV series or more movies? Worthwhile for a matinee.

It's a netflix rental for me. I'll rent it on BD when they hit the streets.

I can't really fault Hayden that much, he didn't write Revenge of the Sith, he just worked there.
I hope he gets some good material under his belt so he can shine.

This is one of the worst movies I paid money to see. Half the theater erupted in laughter once it was over.

I totally agree!
I think it's only 1.5 hrs long, but it seemed like 3 hrs!
Gets my vote for one of the worst movie of the year.
BAD, BAD, BAD.
I just got done watching it, and I liked it. Some good effects, I thought. Of course, I was able to sit in my living room and watch it at my leisure. So, I wasn't as critical as I would have been had I paid top dollar to see it at a theater.

I thought it was decent. It sure seemed short to me. Maybe it was just the ending-not really sure. Thus, it seemed to get me interested only to end so typically. I can say though, that it wasn't bad as I have seen much worse.
Cheers,

It was a big time setup for a sequel. What's it based on - anyone know?
Surround effects are OK but the story line sucks. I don't recommend this to anyone. I was hoping that the actor who played "Anagan Skywalker" in the last 2 two Star Wars movies would have improved with time but thats not the case here.
Since Mike locked the thread before I had the time to request it moved, I cut and paste my comments in here.
My apologies for missing the original thread.

actually, i didn't lock the thread. but since you've moved your comments here ... i'll delete the other one to keep this neat :)
i didn't notice his bad acting this time though, i was much more interested in the story (i wish there was an extended version/director's cut)

Agreed. Keep things tidy.
I didn't like his acting in Star Wars either. I guess I just don't like him. *L* If they would have put another actor in his place, I may have liked this film more.

Yep, sure is begging for a sequel, or a series on TV.

Apparently, this movie was conceived as the first part of a trilogy. That would explain the dangling at the end.
I thought both Hayden and Rachel gave bland performances. It had a great concept and some nice special effects, but it looked like it was written and directed by a 14 year old. It didn't end in an emotionally satisfying way, it was just a quick ending. Apparently the BD of this flick looks incredible, so BD player owners should check it out.

I bought it on Blu-Ray a little over a week ago and watched it yesterday. Though it can make you a little dizzy at times, I rather enjoyed the movie. One thing they should have included though was Hayden (and the other jumper) continuously eating. It takes a lot of energy to bend spacetime!

Adapted from a novel by Steven Gould. I didn't know anything about the movie until recently, but I don't think I can ever watch it because of the completely stupid poster - looks like it's for a video game from 20 years ago or something.

I rented the Blu-ray last week. We thought it was pretty stupid. Cool special effects and nice LFE when they would jump. But all in all, a pretty terrible movie.

Thanks to this thread, I won't purchase this disc. Thanks all for saving me the money and time. 1 minute of reading = $20 and 2 hours of my life in the pocket.
re Steven Gould, I was thinking Stephen J Gould, and wondering when the heck he started writing fiction, hehe...

Watched it from Netflix a week or two ago. Overall pretty stupid movie, but it entertained me for 90 minutes while I did some other stuff.
