Hello everybody.
this is kind of a newbie question... but here it goes.
Is it okay to splice a subwoofer cable? in other words, if my cable is a little too short, can I extend it just cutting it and twisting the color coded wire and wrapping it with tape? Am I going to mess up the cable?
Thanks

You can but I would just buy another one from Monoprice for a few bucks.

What do you mean color coded wire? If it is an RCA cable, there won't be color coded wire inside... Is it speaker wire or is it coaxial cable type cable?

RCA cable? Or RCA connector? Because RG6 and RG59 (coaxial) comes with RCA connectors. Either way, I would probably just buy a new length...they're only a few bucks.
Either buy a new cable of the right length or use a barrel coupler to connect two shorter cables together. I wouldn't cut and splice.

I'll second that. :)
I'm currently using 2 barrel connectors to get the signal over to my sub. No problems. Cutting and splicing sounds like a disaster. When I do establish where I want my sub for sure I will get one cable of the suitable length.

Thanks to all. It just shows how new I am at this. I found the barrel connectors, they're gonna work just fine.
