The movie is coming in theaters in July 18th. I think Heath Ledger as the JOKER finish the movie before he died.

He finished Dark Night before he passed away, and was about to start another movie.

Had already started filming another movie... they are looking for a replacement for him right now and Johnny Depp's name was thrown out.

can you imagine joker with a jack sparrow twist? :confused::eek:

though I think he's a good enough character to pull it off. jack sparrow i think was his only "drunk" role. :)

In From Hell, he played the opium addicted detective...

What they said about the film that Ledger did not complete was that it has a sort of "shift" point AKA "through the looking glass" sort of thing, so they were thinking if he went to this "alternate" realm, there would be no reason the character couldn't be played by another actor.

I can't wait for this film... I heard it's darker than the first batman and that would be tough to beat.

Seeing the preview, it certainly strikes me as dark and more realistic. I have hopes this might actually be good.

People are already saying how this might be Heath Ledger's best performance. Nolan and Bale have said that the Joker in this one is sicker than anything that has been portrayed.

If you want to know how bad this Joker is read Tales of the Dark Knight. It is the most sadistic and cruel version of the Joker ever portrayed.
