Hey folks. I'm setting up an additional home theater in a new room and had a question. I already have the Sony Acoustimass 5.1 speakers. I just need a decent receiver/dvd with usb port for iPod. Does anyone make a component that has the AV receiver/DVD w/USB? Or do I have to buy the components separately or by an HTiB? Ideally I'd like to buy one component that includes the AV receiver/P. scan DVD upconvert and usb port. Looking to spend around $200-$300.

Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance.

Edit: Bose not Sony Acoustimass. That post was a long way of asking....Does anyone sell HTiB w/o speakers?

I think that is the definition of HTiB.

I know the Onkyo 505 (about $300) has an Ipod port, and the 304 (about $200) has an option for it. That ought to get you started. Hope that helps. :)

The 505 is a receiver, not a receiver and DVD player... The answer is no, few if any manufacturers sell an all in one unit without speakers.

Sony USED to sell a few models of them (AVC something or other, ES line), as did JVC I believe, but that was a few years ago and I haven't seen anyone do it since. You might check eBay and see if someone is selling one without the speakers or as a whole package cheap, but don't expect these older units to have USB.
