debating for new receiver rotel for marantz?

would like some opinions if possible.I've been debating on selling my rotel rsx1056,then get a marantz sr7002.Would you think the marantz would be an upgrade over the rotel.I'd probably would only be spending about 4-500. to get the marantz after the sale of the rotel.

I just picked up an SR7002 myself. I think it depends on what you mean by upgrade. If you mean sound quality, that is very tough to say, you would need to listen for yourself. The Rotel is known for great SQ. If you mean features, I would say yes. The Marantz is a newer model with more bells and whistles

It would probably be an upgrade for the HDMI and new HD audio (not sure if the Rotel has that capability), but Rotel might be hard to be in the SQ department. I just picked up an SR4002 and I love it. Still trying to figure out all the options though.
