I was pretty set on the Paradigm Monitor series, when I came across the Swans. In particular the Diva 5.1 or 4.1.
The biggest question I guess is where I can audition them. The Swan website only gives online stores, so that doesn't help.
Does anybody have Swans? Do you like them (or not)?
Thanks for any input...

I read nothing but great things about the Swans. In particular the

Funny. That photo shows nearly every speaker I'm currently debating, in terms of what to get. Make that 805 an "N" and not an "S", add in a Paradigm Studio 20v4 and you'd have 'em all. That Swan D2.1SE sure looks really nice.:D

As pretty as the bookshelf speakers are, I'm looking for towers.... The measurements of the swan sound fairly big (at least compared to the Paradigm monitor 7s). Do they look big in person?
Can anybody who auditioned them give me a review? How do they compare to Paradigms, B&Ws or even Def Techs... ?
Thanks!

Dang! I don't think I want such a giant in my living room (I doubt my wife would want that either). The 5.1 and 4.1 are smaller, but probably not that much.
How do you like the swans compared to the rockets?

I don't believe those are his.:D
The Swan D2.1SEs look like Dynaudio speakers, the woofers at least.

What happened?
What are you trying to do anyway? What budget?
IMO this is a no-brainer. I would purchase these in a heartbeat.

Looks as if there is a guy right around the corner from you who has Swans full line up. Some place called Cleveland Plasma, anyone ever heard of them I was thinking about checking them out.

I have been seriously considering buying the Swan 4.2's They seem to be very well build and all that I can find on them is positive information.
From what I have read the cabinet, tweeter are identical and the drivers are all built of the same materials (just smaller) and they even use the same crossover style at the 6.1's which continue to be highly review by many sources. I figure for $709 I can not go wrong and they have a deal on shipping for only $9.95 right now at www.theaudioinsider.com.
I am hoping to order a pair this weekend.

I`ve never heard a negative comment about Swan speakers and I would have loved to audition them prior to my final purchase, but that wasn`t possible unfortunately.

From what I have learned, as I thought why not call cleveland plasma, the 4.2 has 3- 5 1/4" drivers, where the 5.2 have 3---6 1/2" drivers, and last but not least the 3---6.2 have 8" drivers. I guess in the end there will be less base. I happen not to be that far away so I am going to take them up on there offer, I can not post links but they have most of these sets on display and on some there will fly folks in for free to hear these Swan Systems.

funny timing...
I emailed a local builder about advice on a future build. He's got a set of Scanspeak bookshelf and a set of Swans bookshelf speakers he's going to let me borrow and demo. He said one is 1/10th the price of the other. ;)
He said his honest opinion is that most anyone would be happy with the Swans, and his side business revolves around this stuff. I'm looking forward to doing an in-home comparison. I'll post pics, plots, and thoughts when I get them.

I have a pair of 6.1s in a big room. They do a good job, and they look good in person if you like their style.
They are big though. 41 inches tall I think.
I used to think they were a little harsh on the top, and a little loose on the bottom, but that has a lot to do with my room.
They are efficient, and I recommend them.
