Hi all, I'm new to the forum and have a question. I have a samsung hl-r6768w tv. Its advertised as a 1080P resolution tv, but it won't accept a 1080p input except through the pc port. My question is: when I hook up my blu-ray player to the hdmi port and output at 1080i , at what resolution is the tv image being displayed? The tv is supposed to be capable of 1920X1080 but when I output the signal at 1080p I get a banner on the screen that states " mode not supported". The blu-ray picture appears to be better ( output at 1080i) vs. a standard dvd upconverted to 1080i. I don't quite understand all of whats going on with all of this and hope somebody on this forum can explain it better . Thanks

The TV takes the 1080i signal and deinterlaces it to 1080p.

Exactly as AVRat said. The native resolution of the display is 1920 x 1080p so all input signals are deinterlaced (if necessary) and scaled to that resolution.
