In-Ceiling Speakers

&nbsp; &nbsp;I'm in the process of helping my dad out with his new house and he wants to hook up a Russound multi-zone reciever to some in-ceiling speakers. &nbsp;He is by no means a speaker aficionado and just wants to hear decent sound from his speakers. &nbsp;The guy that is installing the stuff wants to charge $4000 for the reciever, which I have already found for $1500 cheaper on the internet. &nbsp;However, the one thing I am confused on is the type of speakers to get for him. &nbsp;He wants to get 6 inch SpeakerCraft in-ceiling speakers for $250/pair. &nbsp;I have found some NXG Technology 6 inch speakers for around $80/pair and was wondering if anyone knew anything about these or if they could give me some recommendations as to which speakers to get for him, preferably under $120/pair. &nbsp; <img src="http://www.audioholics.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'></font>

Check out the Polk Audio in ceiling speakers. &nbsp;They are rated at 100 watts per channel. &nbsp;I use some for my back surrounds in my HT setup. &nbsp;They are a little more than $120 / pair. &nbsp;About $179 I think. &nbsp;Very clean looking installation (recessed in the ceiling along with my recessed lights in my living room). &nbsp;

Thanks for the advice. &nbsp;I am planning on heading out to Circuit City pretty soon and testing out their speakers, particularly the Polk's that you mentioned. &nbsp;They look great adn Polk has a good reputation, so thanks for the advice.

<font color='#000000'>New to the forums, &nbsp;hope I'm not too late. &nbsp;I just installed a whole house audio into my house. &nbsp;I went with a NuVo E6M system purchased from Hometech (Hometech.com) &nbsp;The unit, all hardware needed &nbsp;(including 6 wall keypads) ran me about 1500. The advantage to the NuVo (they also carry Russound) was that I could get a 6 zone 6 source unit instead of the russound 6 zone 4 source unit. &nbsp;I also purchased a NuVo 3-in-1 tuner for about $650 to enable multiple radio stations in diffferent zones. &nbsp;I also purchased my speakers from Hometech, &nbsp;and I think they were the AudioSource (?) models SC-602. &nbsp;I know that is the model number, &nbsp;I am not positive of the manufacturer. &nbsp;Their tech servivce was great also. &nbsp;This was my first wiring project of any type and I have a 4 year old home...they helped make it a piece of cake. &nbsp;You can Email me or post for more info, &nbsp;but it would be worth looking into. &nbsp;If you really want the Russound system, &nbsp;they had that complete system for about $2000. Speakercraft That's all they do is in-ceiling speakers. They are great. Have you ever listened to them?

Here are some photos of my Home Theater installation. I have Sound Enclosures for the Front 2 speakers, plus the Center Channel speaker. Speaker Brackets for all others. Running Tributaries 12 Gauge 2 conductor wire.
