I recently built a 15x30 addition with cathedral ceilings. I pre-wired for front l-r-c speakers as well as 4 rear speaker locations. I am now on a tight budget and need advice on what speakers I should put in these locations for the best sound. It will be generally used for home theatre and satellite radio. I need in wall speaker choices--everyone keeps telling me to buy the phoenix gold speakers based on the price. Will I get good reproduction with these speakers? Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Also, hello to everyone in the network I am a virgin to your network!!
Cheers

Can I have a look inside your wallet?

What Zumbo is saying is...we need to know a budget to pick your best options. If you can afford SpeakerCraft in-walls then your search is over; if not we can give you a few options based on how much you have to spend.

I did a write up on the Phoenix Gold speakers I used for my distributed audio system. They are great for background music or an entry level HT but are not in the same class as speakercraft and other inwalls costing $200+/pair. However, they should sound better than Bose or an HTIB/satellite speaker system.

I have installed the Dayton in-walls also. Very good for the money. Especially if you are doing mostly HT. I really don't care for audio through almost any in-wall.

You want to spend $600 for a complete inwall 7.1 system, correct? Will you be using a subwoofer, I hope?
I would look into NXG speakers, specifically their pro series. I have used them in a number of installations with great results. They are one of the best bang for the buck in-wall speakers I have used. http://www.nxgtech.com/pro.htm
