Remodel forces upgrade (that's what I tell my wife). I'm looking for floorstanding speakers and based on what I've rear here had pretty much settled on the M60's. Then some additional reading led me to the AV123 site and I found the RS760s were on sale. I'm in Alaska and local choices are few (I like the Paradigm Studio 60's but that's the upper end of my price range).

Space is a ~19x18, 12 foot valuted ceiling, hardwood floor, many windows, open on one side to a large formal dining room/kitchen "great room". Because of room layout, placement forgiveness could be important

Receiver 3808ci, sub died, any surround system is a long way down the road. Priorities lean towards music.

To get the sale price on the RS760s have to buy 3 speakers. I think I want a center channel. resulting in following prices

M60 with VP150cc = $1390
RS760 with RC200 = 1100 with ~$500 in shipping = $1600

Ideas comments, recomendations all appreciated

Thanks, Bruce

You really can't go wrong either way.

Personally, i *love* the finish of the wood on the AV123's.

Both are fine, but very different sonically. You could always order a pair of bookshelf models from each to get an idea of how each sounds.

Thanks, now that I've figured out how to use the search function, this is a much discussed comparison.
