I have a Denon DVD-5900 that I purchased new on November 25, 2003. From reading all the threads in all of the forums I can find, it's fairly evident that I need both a hardware and a firmware upgrade in order to be able to use the IEEE1394 connection between the DVD-5900 and my newly acquired Yamaha RX-Z9. I have sent several emails to Denon support asking for instructions on sending my DVD-5900 to their New Jersey facility for the upgrades and have hear Jack back. Does anyone out there have any idea on what the procedure is to get the player upgraded? (It was bought from an authorized dealer and has been registered on the Denon website) :(

Walt,

Contact this person (Ali Danesh [adanesh@denonnj.com]). She provided the return instructions and RO# for my 5900 which is currently in the shop for the updates.

Good Luck,

Using the supplied contact Ali Denish from this thread I sent an email to him/her yesterday and got a reply. I was instructed to follow the instructions on the following link. Hope this helps.
