My own take on them, is that they are to powerful and only good for inducing deafness or 33 hz effects <img src="http://www.audioholics.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> I also dont fancy splashing out on a set of floorstanders and a centre, but to then have the sound quality compromised by a sub... for sure turn it down... but then why bother with it?

<font color='#000000'>If you need to feel the impact of today's movies encoded with Pro Logic/Digital ES you defintiely need a sub woofer. Even for music the subs do a commenadable job of supplementing your large tower speakers and in case of an active sub it also gives your reciever's/amp's power circuit a break.</font>
