Whats up all...

So i have these main PA speakers that i used to run on a small 150W PA but now i have a much bigger 2x600W mixer and the speakers have no markings or ratings on them...The only thing they say is MAXX on the outter cabinet cage...12" speakers with horns in them...i read about vintage speakers having a manufacturers code date on them (6 digits) and i found a 6 digit code on the back of the driver 121xxx but i cant identify the brand or anything...help...i need to know the contiuous power rating on these things before i blow them out...

Can you post a picture?
That would definately help.

As for blowing them out, just start with the volume very low, and slowly turn them up to where you want them. If they start to struggle or distort in anyway, back off, and dont go up to that volume level anymore.

Google FBT MaxX and see if that is what you have.

Since they are PA speakers, they will probably be OK. Too much power is usually not a problem, it is when you try to drive elevated levels with too little power that fries speakers.

ill try to post a pic the thing is there really are no distinguishing marks at all...i was hoping some of you audio junkis would have some tricks up your sleeves for finding out the speaker ratings based on the number written on the driver magnet...any ideas?
