Media Center Remote Question

Hi All -
My yamaha rxv-2500 learning remote cannot properly learn the codes from the media center remotes. Dose anyone have experience with this or know of a universal or learning remote that can handle the media center remote codes?

If the media center remote is IR and uses any of the well known protocols in the normal range of IR frequencies, any universal remote will be able to learn its codes.

If it is RF or uses a different frequency outside of the 'normal' 43 kHz - 100 kHz range, no universal remote will be able to learn its codes.

It's IR (unless you're talking about the keyboard). I know that Universal Remote has the codes available for their remotes. I'm not sure about Harmony but I can't imagine why they wouldn't. I'm at a loss for why the Yamaha remote won't learn them. Is it not learning because they don't have the code available? Does it have the "point the two remotes at each other" learning protocols? I don't see why that wouldn't work.
