Hi,

I'm unclear on the built in scaler of the AE900U.

Does the scaler work on both component video and HDMI inputs?

If I feed a standard 480i dvd source into the AE900,
it will automatically scale it to the highest resolution of 1080i?
The source in the menu screen will still display 480i?

On page 33 of the manual, it mentions compatible signals.
If I read this right, I need at least a 720 signal for the maximum
image quality (?)

Thanks for your help.

Every display has a native resolution. Yours is 720p. Any signal that comes to your display is up/down-converted to 720p. Even the 1080 interlaced signal is downconverted to 720 progressive. But still... the higher the source, the better it will look (up to 1080i cause that's the highest your projector can take).
