What are all of the possible ways to connect and power a subwoofer for my home theater? My place is pre-wired, but no is sure where or what wires have been run. I do know that there are the 6 surround speaker wires present. Where the TV mounts there is a Cat-5 cable, pair of speaker wires, and the component connections. Is it possible to connect the subwoofer with the above configuration? Please help!

Need to know if it is a powered sub or not, and where all the audio/video equipment will be. But it looks like you will need more wiring.

The powered sub will need a 120V outlet to power the internal amp.
You will need a video type cable from the equipment area to it. This cable can also be a cable TV type cable, RG-6/59.

Is the equipment cabinet by the TV or someplace else? Since you have one speaker cable by the TV, doesn't look like that is where the equipment will be, right? Otherwise, you would have all the speaker wires coming out there.

Where does the video cable go from there?
Can you post a picture or layout or both?

The equipment is going to be in another room's closet(media closet). The power supply for the subwoofer is already present. Here are the pictures of the cables coming out from where the TV/subwoofer will be as well as the media closet where all of the cables come together.4356

You can use one of the RG6/59 runs and it will work for your sub. The other jacketed wires look a bit small for speaker wire, but will probably work.

I am not seeing his pictures, nothing, not even an indication there is one.

I have similar questions about my sub. It's in shipping, so I don't actually have it in hand at the moment.

After the OP's questions are answered can someone let me know what the connection options are for DefTech Supercube 2?

Thanks.
