I just Netflixed Barnyard for my kid and I to watch before bedtime, we only saw about half way, he likes it, not too bad for me. One question, why are all the cows sporting udders? Otto and his pop: udders, the girl cow (obviously) pregnant, has udder (natural), male cows (bulls) no horns. What gives? Luckily my 4 year old isn't attuned to that factor yet. It's a little bizarre, I still don't get it.

That sounds like the kind of thing you could report to moviemistakes.com. I saw Barnyard with my nieces but I guess I am just not attentive enough to notice things like that.

I remember seeing the preview for that movie, and being perplexed at the sight of boy cows with udders; I live in Wisconsin and I 'ant never seen that! :p

Great, this means I'm not nuts, I can tell the difference between a bull and a cow so why can't the animators?

"Artistic licenses" perhaps?

I'm really curious as to why they'd do that. I mean it's fairly obvious. Inside joke perhaps.

Ok just finished seeing second half, it's established all cows no matter what their sex have an udder and no horns. Cows are joy riding in a farmer's car, they're drinking milk as if it was Mickey's Big Mouth, I find that a bit gross, what? they milked themselves? Movie is rather bizarre, it has some funny gags, older kids might get it.

That's exactly what ran through my mind when I rented it. Odd.

That is the funniest thing - you'd think they would have caught that early on... I suppose there aren't many cows in Hollywood. I think a lot of those people live in somewhat sheltered boxes - no one around them to point out that all cows don't have udders (don't want to hang out with them redneck folk, you know!)

I can tell the difference between a bull and a cow so why can't the animators? :confused:I imagine they'll learn the difference quite quickly if they ever try to milk a bull. :D

You know Mark, you're absolutely right.

...I always thought that cows were female bulls and, as such, all had udders.

Is this not true? Remember, city boy, not country boy. Be gentle. :o

(but, I do know enough to not try to milk a bull. "City" doesn't mean stupid.)

Yeah, we noticed that in the preview also and were cracking up about it... Pretty major mistake.

Maybe the animators don't know the difference between male and female cows but another explanation could very well be that they already had a model of a female cow and just used that model for all of the cows rather than creating a new model for a bull.

Hey M,

Model of a female cow, add horns, remove udder, voila: boy cow, aka: bull.;)

I think it was an inside joke of sorts, a la Ren and Stimpy. Still, bizarre cartoon.:D

You EEEEEDEEEOTs don't know the difference between a bull and a cow? :D

"You coveted my ice cream bar..." We have the 3 disc set of the first season(s?) of Ren & Stimpy with lost and bonus episodes. GREAT stuff :)

My wife and I had this very conversation.

My guess was they just wanted to put something down there...though the other animals walked upright and had no issues...

definitely odd.
