Take a look at this:

The description says used, but as long as they are in good working order, that's a pretty good price, isn't it?
Thanks.

if this is the RS1, where is the insignia on top?
and why is the picture always off center and avoiding the bottom part. could it be the bottom of the speaker on the pic is actually the top?
here are pics I took ...

upon further observation, that speaker is indeed upside down ...

the port should be on top, and the black round thing with writing should be at the bottom

if all is well in performance and if there is no damage to the top portion, it looks like you got a good deal.

It looks like the bidding has ended,i know nothing of that speaker or its resale value but reading the auction description set off a huge red flag for me.
Im extremely leary anytime i read a disclaimer such as this seller used,"Pictures are not of actual item".

The seller has 100% feedback and offers a 7-day money back warranty. Plus, ebay and paypal and mastercard should afford me some insurance if something is wrong with the speakers. I figured that it was worth a shot, eh? Hopefully you guys on this board can help me out and confirm that these are true MA speakers.

For the price you've paid, and if they play well, it was a good deal.
How long till they are delivered ?

I think that I should be getting them in the next couple days. I'll update this thread when I get them.

If you only paid $175 for these and they work flawlessly, then you got better than a good deal. The RS1's are one of the best mini monitors out there for the money. You would have to spend a whole lot more to get the kind of low taut bass that these small beasts put out. Add the very good gold tweeter and you have dynamite in a small box. Just be careful and partner with neutral or warm electronics. Good luck.

UPDATE: I just received the RS-1's this afternoon and they are, indeed, authentic. A little scratched, but they look to be the real deal. I'll get around to setting them up and I'll let you guys know how they sound.

Well, I just set them up (temporarily on top of my old front floor speakers) and they sound fantastic! Of course, my old floor speakers are an ancient pair of Infinity RS-525's.
My original thought was that these weren't going to sound spectacular (since they were used and bought at a low price), so I was going to get a pair of RS6's for the fronts and use these for the backs (and eventually get a subwoofer). But now I'm rethinking the plan. Maybe I'll use these as my fronts and buy a decent subwoofer (ULW-10 or PB10-NSD or VTF-2 MK 2) and use my old rear speakers (oldish Infinity's). And then, maybe eventually get the RS6's (or RS8's). Thoughts? Suggestions?

It was a very good deal then! Congrats!
I have the RS6 as front and the RS1 as surround in my HT and I love them.
Depending on how much room you have to fill, they might do the trick for a long time. The RS6 certainly sound richer. But you really need to hear them side by side to notice. Personaly I prefer to have floor standing speakers in the front.
I'm testing 2 subs this weekend. Martin Logan Abyss (on the right) and Grotto (on the left) on the rear picture.
