Ok, so I've had a pair of Klipsch RF-25's for about 3 years now and I'm looking for a set of speakers that have a lot smoother and more "relaxed" sound. While I don't think the Klipsch speakers are a bad speaker per se, they have a very bright sound to them that really has become irrating over the years.

I guess I'm basically just wondering if there are any other speakers with that bright Klipsch sound so I can avoid them.

I've been reading a lot of different topics on these forums, and it seems like a lot of you recommend Monitor Audio. From what I've read, they don't have that "in-your-face" kind of sound that the Klipsch speakers have. The local dealers near me stock Paradigm, B & W, Energy, NHT, PSB and Velodyne. I'm hoping I can find some MA's somewhere near me so I can listen to them too.

Oh and I'm looking to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of $500-$600. Doesn't really matter to me whether they're bookshelf or floorstanding. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's a pair of Studio 20's on audiogon right now for $600 with a sale pending.
Excellent speaker and well worth that price. If the sale doesn't go through.....

IMO, there is no better deal under $600 than the MA S2's for $449 a pair. They will sell-out. I don't work there. They were discussed here:

NHT's are on the bright side. I like em!

B&W can't compete at this pricepoint. I love em!

Can't comment on PSB or Paradigm.

Energy. Worthy of a listen.
