Denon 3910 Problem???

I have a 3910 connected to a 3805 receiver via Denon link. Recently, I've noticed a peculiar problem when playing back the DTS track on various DVD-A's and music DVD's. It seems like it's either dropping out or skipping in certain places on the disk. This only happens when playing the DTS track, DD and MLP are fine. Any ideas on why this is happening? Laser misaligned, Denon link not working right, something else?

Laser misaligned, Denon link not working right, something else?Try different connections first, to eliminate DL3 and the receiver's DTS decoder as the possible suspects:
-optical/coax (for DL3 elimination)
-5.1 analog cables (for DL3 and reciever's DTS) - DTS signal will be decoded in the player.

Thanks for responding! I had a feeling that I might have to hook up all the analog cables again to see if the DL3 is the problem, I just wanted to eliminate any other possibilities before I went through that hassle. You're right though, that's probably a best place to start addressing the problem.

My Denon 3910 is at the repair center as l write this, cause it acted WEIRD with SOME of the discs, mostly DVD-As. Namely: vibrations, humming noise - sometimes very loud (very distracting, when you listen to SDS music) :eek:
The worst occurence: playing new DVD-A "Love" by The Beatles, vibrations/noise became unbearable !!! I took disc back to BestBuy, they replaced it with the new one, same happened ! But, the disc(s) have loaded and played properly, no damage have occured (so far).
I started experimenting with the front of the disc tray, pushing it lightly with my finger in different spots - it hepled a little with vibrations/noise. Finally, despite the fact that it happens only for a few discs, I decided to send it for repair (it's under warranty), and now they give me ... 6-8 weeks estimated time :( :( :(
Did anything like that happen to any of you, 3910 owners: acting WEIRD (vibrations & noise) with SOME but not ALL of the discs ?
Any input really appreciated ...

Wow! That is not something I have ever experienced. To the contrary, my 3910 is the quietest piece of equipment I have ever owned.

Interesting. I had a chance to play with this at lunch, so I threw on the DVD-A of Porcupine Tree's "Deadwing" and set the audio to the DTS track. Sure enough, on the first track there was a skip at 8:06. However, when I back up to the 6 minute mark and play it again, no skip at all through the end of the song. I haven't had a chance to go back to the analog cables yet, so I will re-test it once I do that.
