SVS-Sonic Boom - What gives?

I placed my order for the SVS PB12-plus on Jan 29. As of today, I have nothing. I called Sonic Boom twice, once Tuesday (answering machine, no call back) and again just now (answering machine again). I also just emailed them through their website. Hopefully, I get a response, or better yet, I get a subwoofer.

If anybody from SVS or Sonic Boom is cruising through here, c'mon, let's get a move on things. It's been over three weeks with no contact and no delivery.

How much is long distance from Canada? I'd call SVS directly to see if they've got an order for you and/or Sonic Boom.

I could probably drive to SVS from here in 4 hours and pick it up myself, but Sonic Boom is the Canadian rep. so they should be able to handle it. I just want to know what's going on and when will the thing arrive.

I would still call SVS and tell them about their non-response so far.

Sonic Boom e-mailed me back. Tentatively expecting delivery by the middle of next week. Actually, my order confirmation is dated Jan 31, so next Wed. will officially mark one month since the day I ordered it. It's kinda frustrating when I see that fellow member GlocksRock ordered his 20-39PC+ on Sunday and had it by Wed. Oh well. I can wait another week. I still have my new AVR-2307CI and Design 5's to play with in the meantime.

No, he's lucky by birth, i.e. American. Plus, he got a 20-39PC+ and I'm waiting on a PB12-Plus. Maybe he got my driver?

:D It's got SICK low end, trust me, it will be worth the wait. I tuned it to 16 Hz. last night and played some of my demo stuff, and all I can say is WOW, that thing shakes the floor.

Come on now Dave its not all that bad up here:p ! I was at sonicboom looking at tha exact sub and was told its takes about 3-4wks for delivery:(. I will say that the sb12 plus I auditioned was awesome, it came in Rosenut( I like the oak or maple) and looked beautiful. It will be worth the wait, regardless of colour. :D

It's all good. I was just a little frustrated is all. I got a call today from Mason. He said he'd throw in a sub cable for the unexpected delay, which is very nice of him. In the course of our conversation, I also added the Avia and SPL meter to my order so I could get the thing adjusted right when it arrives. Anticipation is what's killing me.

Did they not provide you with a tracking number? That really is a bummer, man I feel sorry for you, they should throw in more than just a free sub cable.

Tracking number? It hasn't been shipped yet. I've given them until Monday to have it at my door or consider the order canceled. Order confirmation was Jan. 31. Delivery Mar. 5, maybe.

I'll tell you what's inconvenient. It was supposed to be delivered middle of this week. I'm on midnight shift this week, so I slept the last two days on my living room couch so I wouldn't miss the knock at the door, only to find out that the subwoofer has been in Toronto since Tuesday, but didn't get re-shipped Tuesday or Wednesday (don't know why, inexcusable) and a snowstorm delayed pick-up from Thursday to Friday for delivery to me on Monday. So I get to sit around another whole weekend waiting.

Free sub cable? Meh. I'm paying full up retail for the sub and avia/spl + shipping + taxes and seem to be the lowest priority on anybody's list. What makes up for gawd-awful customer service? Free trinkets? A discount? Apology? I don't know because I usually walk away from any deal where I think I'm being treated poorly, but I really want the PB12-Plus.

I got top notch customer service from SVS, before and after the purchase. Is SVS to fault, or could it be UPS since it's coming to Canada? If it's already been shipped, it's hard to blame SVS for the delay... but I'm sure when you do finally get it, you will be very happy with it's performance.

It was, apparently, shipped from SVS only last Thursday or Friday and sonicboom got it Tuesday.

I'm sure the product is amazing. It's everything else I'm concerned about. Correspondence is ongoing.

I don't know why it took so long to ship, but I know there has been bad weather hopefully that's the only reason why it has been delayed so bad. Keep us posted.

Hey Dave the weather really sucked yesterday and the early part of today. I'm nutty enough to drive that distance and pick up on Saturday and save a couple of more bucks. If you decide to do that come over for a beer I'm 15 minutes away.;)

The shipment has been expedited and it should arrive at my house tomorrow morning. I have been contacted by Ron Stimpson personally, so that greatly increases my faith in the company when the owner takes such a personal involvement to make things right.

Whoa - hold the phone. The expedite company just called. It will be here in under an hour. I guess they don't want this thing sitting on their truck overnight if it doesn't have to. This is great.
